i am very saddened by this. i met mike for the second time only this past weekend. we were together as team mechanics at the 79 red zinger in boulder. he has one of my 70s bicycles and, through the list, i've kept tabs on him. alomg with steve kinne, i spent half of friday with mike and dale gettiing things put in place for the weekend. he seemed incredably subdued and withdrawn and i remarked privately about this to another listmember. (you know who you are). well, with this news, some of my observations make some sense. but it doesn't change the sadness i feel when i think that four days ago i was sharing time with mike and talking about racing then and now.

my thoughts are with you mike.
