Since I've been relatively quiet lately, I'll add my 2ยข worth. I've in the past been an advocate of wide availabliity of reproduced decals and remain so. HOWEVER, that doesn't mean I would condemn anyone who refused to sell decals, particularly original ones. I think Dale makes that point very well. As to $500 decals, I would have a very low opinion of someone who gouged a fellow list member for such a price, but that IS NOT the same as insisting on selling decals only with a paint job. A refinishing job involves material and labor, and provides the seller's livelihood. To provide decals with a $500 paint job is not even remotely like selling a set of decals for $500. The fact that the buyer does not need a frame refinished does not obligate the seller to sell decals separately. Do I wish some refinishers who have decals would sell them to me separately? Yes. Do I think they have an obligation to do so? NO!
