I had one on a late '70s DeRosa. Worked beautifully. The dish on the 28 hole Ambrosiso Metamorphosis was extreme though, but I never had any problems with the wheels (the rims were the equivalent of a Mavic Blue or Gray SSC; heavy +400g "stone crushers" for Paris-Roubaix style races).

Might work as a marginal antitheft device for the coffee house stop (were a kid tries to ride off with your bike; never happened to me). Also would be very handy if you transported your race bike in the truck of your car with both wheels off.
