Now I am no rocket scientist, hell I am lucky to get a bottle rocket off without burning my fingers, but this is the way ride quality was explained to me long ago and I believe I read it else where as well and it made a lot of sense. Think of the bike as a tuning fork, strike that fork on the table top and hold it to your check and you can feel the vibration but very little to none of the vibration can be felt where you are holding onto the tuning fork. The vibration is absorbed as it runs up the fork in very much the same way it is on a bicycle. Now change the materials or wall thickness and you have changed the bikes absorption capabilities. There have been advances in ski pole technology in the last 10-15 years using the same idea. The aluminum ski pole of yesterday is so much harsher to use than a well made pole of today regardless of the material.

Mark, can you feel the vibes baby, Poore
