Subject: [CR]For Sale - Whitcomb Frame

Hello CR!

I have another splendid frame for sale. A 22 inch Whitcomb road frame.

Whitcombs are one of the few UK custom framebuilders from the 40s who remain in business today. According to Barry Whitcomb, the frame number of this frame (515666) means that he built this frame himself in 1966. It has been in the same family since new and was re-enamelled by Whitcombs recently, built up and then never used. The only flaw in this beautiful frame are two tiny chips in the enamel where a brake arm has been allowed to make contact with the top of the downtube, otherwise itÂ’s like brand new. Moderately fancy Prugnat lugs and Campagnolo style road ends, this frame is in a gorgeous metallic midnight blue with cream and red seattube panels and white transfers.

22 inch seattube centre to top, 22.5 toptube and 41 .5 inch wheelbase. Seat tube pump pegs, tunnels and stops for front and rear gears, top tube cable guides, a pip for DT levers and mudguard eyes. On sale with a period headset, steel seat pillar and modern bottom bracket. Price including airmail and insurance from the UK is 500 dollars, which can be either Cash, Paypal or credit card.
