Its hard to believe that there has been much racing there recently.
I visited in 2000, on the way to a Track World Cup in Turin. The rider I
was looking after wanted some track time, and our host organised acceas
to the Vigorelli. Although the boards in the straights looked to be in
good condition, the bankings were in rough condition, and slippery.
After we'd been there a while a few of the regulars came out to train
and they also seemed unable to stay up on the bankings.
We stopped at Masi to ask directions. As I was entangled with the track bike in the back of a tiny Fiat, I decided to be a good, focussed, track coach and stay in the car. Not one of my smarter decisions...
