Hi Scott,

I am under the impression that most drop-out failures can be attributed to bent hub axles and problems in manufacture, Maybe the abbreviation of the right drop-out has something to do with it. I don't do a lot of repairs but I have seen all sorts of drop-outs broken, none seem to stand out as particularly bad.

I've seen some Zeus dropouts break on Zeus frames. I'm not sure if they were 2000/2001 or some other Campy copy. Anyone know which is defective, the dropouts or the frame builders???

I've also heard Campy dropouts are subject to failure. Any opinions on the best of the old horizontal dropouts? Thanks Scott in tropical St.P. MN.
