I don't know the history leading to this post, but I checked out the scanned image becasue I grew up near Proteus Frame shop. The funny thing about this Bikeology catalog exerpt is this:

They take great pains to say that people should have a crank puller for the exact brand of cranks they use, and that certain models will interchange in an emergency. Basically, they say all the 22 mm models will interchange in an emergency, except for some reason Campy is "unique." On the other hand they sell the (crappy) Park universal tool that "eliminates the problem of different pullers for different arms. Double ended-puller nut fits all cranks." I hate to think about how many old Stronglights have been stripped out by the "TA" end of one of these things. For sure one by me, but only one. In the real world of the 1970's it was only the Stronglight/TA incompatiblity that was an issue. All that other stuff about Campy vs. Shimano, vs Sugino is nitpicking somewhat. Tom "owns 5 crank extractors anyway" Dalton Steven m Johnson <grisha2@juno.com> wrote: Lost the thread, but look down in the lower RH corner.
