Heck, why not go to the source? Call Gian Simonetti at Simo Cycles in Huntington Beach, CA, (714) 842-3206. He and Mike Howard built it, as they were Medici for years before they became Simonetti. I'm sure Gian can tell you all about it.

I have a red, circa 1978 (?) Medici Pro Strada that I'd like to pin down the vintage of.

Serial number is "043" and there is also a " + GF + " on the BB in another area.

Anyone have a good SWAG or other info. on dating this frame?

Additionally, what is the "window" of manufacture of the original Pro Strada? This bike has DuBois lugs, 1010/B dropouts without the PortaCatena holes, and very nice finish work.

Thanks,
