Regarding not so skinny clincers. . . .

I've got Panaracer 700c 32 Paselas (Kevlar) on Araya rims, and they go well with my lugged Ishiwata-steel road frame. They corner well, and they can handle the gravel and pavement flaws when my attention turns to Eastern Kingbirds, Vireos, Hairy Woodpeckers and Great-crested Flycatchers (which happens pretty often while I'm riding my favorite loop on rural roads here in the rolling hills of southern Wisconsin).

So I agree with Chuck: if you haven't yet tried a slightly wider, fatter clincher, you might want to.
