Subject: [CR]Reminder to all about CR list protocol

I have spent quit a bit of my time the last few weeks typing out gentle reminders to members about the rules for this CR list. I again remind everyone that this list is not like other lists and the rules require slight adaptation on your parts. Everyone (for the most part!) has been very good... Polite and mutually respectful and thank you very much, but please take these "helpful hints" to heart:

The key breaches seem to be in these areas:

1. Forgetting to properly sign each message with your full name (well, at least first and last) and your home town... Yes, in each message.. and No, having it in your e-mail header or whatever is not enough.

2. Wasting band width with "Atta boys" and "Me toos!" This list can generate so much mail that we must exercise restraint and not participate in it as if it were a teenagers' chat list. If you make post to the CR list, let it be a considered message with pertinent content.

3. "Humorous messages".....related to the previous point but not exactly the same. You should develop an instinct to stop yourself before posting something that is just meant to be funny. (I have that problem too in that I often try to be facetious!) The problem here is that it doesn't actually contribute much AND (worse) it is often misunderstood and destructive. So... Nip it!

4. Finally, please try to stay on topic..The topic area is pretty clear (and I have been lenient of late) but PLEASE help me out by staying on our stated course!

It certainly wouldn't hurt to review the CR e-mail rules I have published in the web site: CR list rules

Thanks Dale
