RE: mavic BB tapers
Unfortunately, someone got real happy with the cutter, and went way further than a 2mm taper, and actually reduced the shell width to about 65mm. The right side is not too bad, the fixed cup will hold, but the left side was sharpened to a point, and the lockring has flanged the shell to the point it is very visible, and the lock ring threads very far onto the cup. As i said, it's probally still rideable, but with a pristine group, I wanted a nice overall finish. I can tell you I was very disappointed that the seller of the frame neglected to point all this out before selling it to me. I guess I should blame me short parents for giving me genes that require a 52cm frame, thus limiting my options!!
