Pete,

Bent bars are best judged on a case by case basis. Any kink or ripple; don't bother. The bars I fixed were very mildly out of whack. There was a slight twist to the outside while the bend was opened up a bit on one side. The bend to the outside was easy enough to fix by clamping the extention of the drops in the vice and pushing on the rest of the bar. Getting the bend to close up was a different problem. Holding the bar while applying enough force in that direction was a challange. I don't remember how I finally accomplished it, but they are perfect now and destined to go on my 1970 Colnago Super. Rebending bars is a desperation move and should only be undertaken when the bends are mild, the bars are the perfect pair for your needs, and they will not encounter excessive use.

You were probably better off passing your set; especially if there were any kinks.
