Resillion did indeed bring the first cantilever brakes to the mass market, in the 1920s. They were considered so much better than every other brake available that the CTC gave them a special award for them.
They are devilishly hard to set up, but work well once done.
Did I understand that recent comment on the list about Mr Colnago saying "No" to the latest "hiddenset" fasion for headsets? That is that he does not want them to be used on his Colnago frames?
Why did this style of headset originally loose favour? Was it because it required more expensive tooling to face the tubes with and was less replaceable?
