Larry and All,

Another example of "catalog quirks"? All the Motobecane catalogs I have ('71 - '84) only list the Grand Touring model being built with Vitus 888. This tube set was first offered (again, per the catalog) in 1980.

The Grand Jubiles were first built with 531 (main tubes) from '74-'76. In '77 they were offered with Vitus 172 (full Vitus DB 172 throughout) as well as Nervex Pro lugs. In '78 ('78-'80) this offering was changed to Vitus 172 DB (3 main tubes) but reappeared again as Vitus 172 DB throughout in '81-'83.

According to the catalogs, the Grand Jubile disappeared with the '84 model year?

Of course, a catalog is just that: A catalog!! I do however have two Jubiles ('74) ('77), and the tubing does correspond to catalog information.

Are your new digs still in 'Wild, Wonderful, WV'???
