Jay,

Most deffinitely do not redo that frame. The supply of bikes from that period that still have original paint and decals are finite. Do not reduce the numbers any further. If you want to "freeze" the frame in time; that is seal in the original finish ,I might recommend that you have someone spray a coat of clear Imron over the original finish. That will preserve the original finish and decals and add trememdously to the durability. Mondia Specials have unique paint jobs and the pinstriping is some of the best production work you see like that. It would be a sin to undo someones' work of that caliber for no reason.

My friend has a NR French BB NIB that he was trying to find a new home for last weekend along with a SR French headset. I would seek that one out if you are looking for Campagnolo. He was asking $75 for it. Do not retap the BB shell. Are you positive that it is French as opposed to Swiss threads? French are both cups threaded right hand. Swiss is metric but one right thread, one left threads like an English BB.

Hope that encourages you to find another beater for your needs. There are zillions of non-original frames out there that would serve perfectly well.
