Hi gang,

I recall a special moment after the 1983 Paris Brest Paris on my extended vacation following the event. I was riding south of Paris toward Nice on the Riviera. A group of 13-14 year old school boys overtook me from behind. There were only four of them but they were in Huret Jerseys (Green and Back and White As I recall) and burning up the road. I being loaded with camping panniers struggled to catch them and went through their pace line with a little difficulty,

After a few turns at the front they dropped me on a good hill. They were ruthlessly efficient at beating me up. I was impressed at their age.

They all rode Huret, the champions choice.

I'm unaware of Huret sponsering any major teams but as I recently posted,

the Jubilee's were if fact used by the Raleigh Team on their Team bikes back

in at least 1973. Of the Team bikes about 1/2 seem to have been equipped

with the Huret Jubilee's (along with Nervar Star cranksets and Weinmann

brakes) while the other 1/2 were Campagnolo NR as I had always assumed.

got my 7th ride in a row in today :-) and got my freshly restored 1974

Raleigh International which was pristine, absolutely filthy :-( ,when I got

caught in a downpour about 10 miles from home.
