My Chris King is from 1978. I ordered it in 1977 but the backlog was big for a garage operation. After 50K or so miles the fork fitting cracked (alloy on the real early ones) a few years ago. I had to remind them mine had a lifetime warranty, not ten years! It is still as good as new. My Redcay was built with all sealed bearings in 1978 so that was the headset to have.

> I was just thinking that Chris King has been making their wonderful headset since around 1976. Has on the list been using them that long? I started using them in the early 90's and find them vastly superior to standard headsets. Why didn't they become popular 20 years ago?
