Couldn't it be a podium jersey? They always make those large so they go on easy - struggling with a skin tight jersey in front of the crowd and cameras isn't graceful. Sometimes they aren't real jerseys; they even have been known to have a slit all the way up the back closed with velcro so the hero doesn't have to pull it over his head.
