the issue begs the question: why did the client and/or his mechanic 'leave' paper inside the frame ------------------ Just reporting that this is not an isolated instance: A bike also got repaired in our shop a couple of years ago, it too had a plug of paper down inside the seattube, and had rotted through at that point. Can't remember the make now.

As Sherlock Holmes or Spock might surmise.......when all the logical answers don't seem to fit, then maybe "it did come that way from the shop!!"
