email for pictures. Let's start with the sizing, which is the most important thing. The approx. standover heights are just over 31" for the captain, just over 29" for the stoker. The center-to-center toptube is 22" for captain, 23" for stoker. Let me know what other measurements you might want. As usual, tandems are built strangely and tube-lengths don't necessarily give you the information you need.

OK, now the good stuff. This is an early 80s, maybe late 70s Jack Taylor tandem, silver, in immaculate condition. Made with 531 tubing and Campy VERTICAL (!!!) dropouts. The fork steerer is oversized and the headset is an oversized Bardon. The bike is made for 27" wheels. As far as condition of the finish, it is really really clean, with original factory "shine". There are a series of scuffs on the right side of the stoker headtube, but they don't even get to primer, and some paint was scratched off the right chainstay close to the chainring, probably from a chain that dropped in there while riding. The 531 decals are peeling a bit. The classic taylor graphics and pinstriping are in fantastic shape. There is no chrome anywhere on the bike.

Components are as follows: 1. late 70s/early 80s Stronglight tandem crankset 170/170 28/38/48, don't know model name of these. 2. Campy NR seatposts, shifters, SR brakelevers with gum hoods, front derailleur, and a funky campy clamp that routes the cable to the front derailleur. This clamp is sized to fit the seattube, but has a little guide similar to the kind on the Campy chainstay cable-guide. First time I've seen this clamp. 3. Rear derailleur is a classic Suntour Cyclone GT, one of the lightest, finest touring derailleurs of the time. 4. Cinelli stem and front bars, wrapped in white leather. 5. Santana stoker stem and 3ttt stoker bars wrapped in white leather. 6. Phil 48 hole hubs, both threaded for a drumbrake, on Super Champion rims, with Specialized Touring tires. Sachs 6speed freewheel with ratio 13-32. Rear spacing is 135mm. 7. Ideale brown Diagonale saddle for the stoker, and brown Rebour-signature Ideale Record 90 for the captain. 8. Mafac tandem cantilever brakes 9. Front BB is Campy NR, rear BB is an Edco professional sealed unit, with adjustable chainline (helps alot !) 10. pedals are your choice of 2 pair of Campy SuperLeggeras, or 2 pair of Look, or a pair of each ! 11. A set of black fenders with a red stripe is included, but not attached to the bike in the picture. Also, rear Blackburn alloy racks are included, but not attached in the picture.

I put the bike together for picture purposes, but it is not all "wired up", which is why the fenders and racks are not attached. There are no cables or housings included with the bike. Also, chains are included, but not mounted. I recommend this baby be put into the hands of an experienced tandem mechanic and everything "fine-tuned" to your specs. Price is $1400 SHIPPED within the 48 bordering states. I'm advertising this on the list for just one day before posting it to ebay.
