I would suggest you speak to the gent doing the grinding and ask him who he recommends to harden the surface after. If you get a blank look, perhaps ask another grinder. Look for someone in the motor racing field or a shop that restores collectible (expensive) cars or motorbikes. A good plater should be able to mask them. Measure the fit between the hub body and the flanges as you may want to mask that part as well if you go for triple plate.
