Your written description ( not your neo-impressionist rendering) certainly reads like what you have there is a genuine tire saver, as I have come to know them over the last 30 years. I have never seen one that was not mounted under the brake calipers or that didn't have the clear tubing you mention. But I have never seen the black wire sort, the wire I've witnessed was always silver or chrome in appearance. Sorry, I can't help with identifying the seat post. Tom James, Chicago
