Hi,

Time to come out of lurk mode again...

I haven't seen it posted yet so thought I'd chime in. I have seen lots of differences on the "standard" right-rear, left-front but mostly on cyclocross bikes. The left lever for the rear brake really comes in handy for dismounts before barriers/run-ups/streams/etc. You can throw your (right) leg over the top-tube, grab the brake, and hop-off running all in the same motion while slowing down as well..

Cyclo-cross has been going for a while over in Europe. Mabye some of our esteemed members across the pond could comment? Do they set up brakes for cross this wasy as well over there??
