I believe that for a right handed person left front braking is correct, you can better modulate the rear brake preventing lock up.A quick survey of my garage shows all my bikes set up with LEFT/FRONT including a JACK TAYLOR which came from the TAYLOR BROS that way,All of the bikes I built are that way and as a final note the PARAMOUNT TRACK BIKE my dad gave me in 1964(its a 1950 or so) had a front brake mounted by our mechanic at the time LAURENCZ SOLARSKI (POLISH 6 day rider from the 30s) and he put the single brake lever on my left.(so the POLES might be left brakers too)
