Well into the fascist era in Italy, it was patriotic to include the word Italia or italiana or other similar variation in your company name. It was further important and legally required for all by limited liability companies or partnerships to also include a form of the owner's name in the corporate denomination. You therefore have companies like Campagnolo and Ferrari named purely after their founders who were originally on their own. The same for Colnago, Pinarello, De Rosa, Faggin, Scapin...etc. The official initial name of the corporate entity that we now know as Campagnolo was likely 'Campagnolo di Campagnolo Tullio' meaning Campagnolo of Tullio Campagnolo.

For names starting with F such as Fiat (Fabbrica Italiana Autovetture Torino = Italian Autovehicle Factory Turin), Fiamm (Fabbrica Italiana Autocarri Montecchio Maggiore), it invariably means a limited liability or public company with fabbrica (factory) as the first word of the acronym. For names starting with S such as Somec, Siata, it generally means società (company) This explains why you see so many companies with the family name of the founder and why the ones that don't have a family name as part of the corporate name actually being acronyms.

Siamt woud therefore likely mean something like Società Italiana, followed by their specialty and then the city of origin.
