Unfortunately parting out bikes will continue. I have not done this but will do this soon. I have offered complete bikes from the 60's and 70's to the list and ebay and one in particular got less than a $150 bid on Ebay while at the same time a simular crankset alone was bid to $160???? I am in need to sell 20 bikes soon. I will part out a late 60's Fiorelli, maybe a LeJuene, and a number of other bikes after I try to sell them complete once more. I will not sell these bikes complete and then go to by parts for other projects for considerable more. I have sold a number of bikes last year for the value of the saddle, brakes, cranks, and derailleurs. The frame, wheels and all else were free. One way to stop the practice is to stop buying high end pristine vintage frames. I am reducing my reluctance to strip lower end frames and flawed frames since people don't respect them in my attic and don't seem to have much interest in them other than as parts for other projects.
