""This may be swell bikes, and you can't beat the price. But fwiw a check of dejanews indicates poor ol' jack has been running his going out of business sale since at least 1998.

- Charles""

I must publicly take issue with the tone of this post.

Jack van Gent and his family have made significant contributions to the bicycle business, and to the sport of bicycling in Colorado. "Poor ol' Jack" actually must be at least somewhat elderly by now -- he was middle-aged, with an adult daughter, when I was racing in the '70's.

It's obvious to me from the website that the van Gents haven't been trying particularly hard to get rid of their modest inventory, much of which is made up of rather miscellaneous bits and pieces, and I don't think that they're getting rich -- or taking advantage of anyone -- selling frames fifteen bucks at a time. Or fifty.

They deserve better than wisecracks.
