Hi,

I'm new to this list. I have taken charge of my father's old racing bike and want to restore it. I came across ClassicRendezvous while trawling the net for info.

The bike was bought by my granfather for my father around 1935/36 in Oran, Algeria. My father, who's memory is failing, says the bike is a Mercier made with Reynolds 531 tubing. He had it repainted after the war in Italy. There is no trace the original transfers/decals or headbadge on it. My father does not remember the original colour or what the transfers looks like.

Can anyone help with old pictures? What would the '30s Mercier transfers have looked like? What vintage are the green and mauve Merciers on the CR website? Any other info greatfully received.

Hope someone can help.

regards,
