All my PX-10's have the chromed fork ends & rear stays. but recently I did some work on a friends Beautiful Peugeot that he purchased new in 1978, it has full Reynolds 531 frame & forks, all French 531 decals are perfect, has the older Peugeot decals with the rainbow stripes on each end of the Peugeot downtube decal, all the parts are the same as other PX-10's (Mafac brakes, Stronglight 49, Phillipe stem, Super champion tubulars) the forks are the smooth rounded sloped top forks without the big crown as most other peugeots of this time. The main difference is: The bike is all black with NO chrome. It also has an Ideale 2001 saddle, brazed on Simplex retro-friction shifters. I wonder if this could have been a French model normally not sold in the US? Any comments Thank You, John A. Quigley
