My impression is that trikes occupied the same sort of place as the sidecare did in british transport. Basically they were utility vechiles. Like most things they ten were also used for sport and touring. My great great grandfarther used his to get bear at the pub by betting that punters could not ride it down the hill and round the corner at the bottom. It was fixed wheel. Must be in the geans as I get thing lust over both trikes and sidecars. /dlh.
