This is a good place to stitch on a leather hood.
But getting the pattern contour right would be the trick.
I've not tried it yet but I think I'd like to use a piece of that foam wrapping plastic. Its closer to the thickness of the wrapping leather than a piece of cardboard.
Another thing--I would sew the hood together in position before stitching it to the bar wrap. Or even stabbing the stitch holes--which must be carefully matched to pre-punched wrap.
A fun project for the highbidder.
