As some of you already know, a friend of mine is preparing a car to make a speed record attempt at Bonneville Salt Flats, and has asked me to be driver.

We've been discussing his sponsors and graphics for the car, and the question of colour came up... For the past ten years my bicycle racing team has been sponsored by Bianchi, so I thought it would be fun to have the car painted the same colour as my team bikes, "Bianchi celeste". However, the car's owner hates the colour, and is dead-set against "some dammmsissy, girl's-sweater, minty-tinty green". LOL

Luckily, one of his other cars is painted a rather nice light olive green, and when he suggested that as a possible choice, I immediatly agreed.

Now then, if he'll just add lots of nice red box striping, it'll feel like a Legnano team car!

I plan to tape a picture of Gino Bartali on the dash for good luck, and maybe a "Campagnolo" sticker on the steering column...

vintage content - Did someone on the list buy the NOS Campagnolo "cambio corsa" drop-outs on eBay last month? We should get a good set of dimensions from them, for future reference.
