Sounds like one of the best reasons I've heard for having a large selection of old steel framed bicycles - spread that stress around!!!!!! :-)

Chuck Brooks Malta, NY

"Limited were built between 1974 and 1976. Two models were built, road and touring, a total of about 1000 frames. More road frames were built. The road frame was designed for 5cm reach brakes and 120mm rear hubs. The frames cannot be used with current parts without modification. It is not worth modifing a 25 year old frame. All curent Signature frames are made for a particular individuals and there is no standard specifications although the majority are road frames that are designed to use current parts. I have always mixed different tubing brands. In 1975 I used Reynolds, Vitus and Columbus. For a 59cm frames, the top tube, fork blades and seat tube usually were.9-.6 wall. The down tube, seat stays and chainstays were 1-.7. I don't have records from that time that would be more specific. Buying an old bike is no bargin at any price. Any part of the bike may be ready to fail.
