Listpersons,

For those attending Velo Rendezvous II I'd like to confirm that I have with me the personal frame that Mario built for HIMSELF when he was working for Masi in Carlsbad. Before I saw the frame I did suspect there would be some personal attention put into this bike. Little did I know how MANY little tricks he applied to his own frame.

I will not spill the beans right here and now about the details of this special and rare one-of-a-kind Masi so as not to spoil the surprises as we all take a good look at it at VR during the "framebuilders love fest" on Fri. morning. This bike is VERY cool. I'm also anxious to compare it to the Mario built Masi made for Irene Ferarri that John Pergolizzi has with him. Both bikes were probably built at nearly the same time. I wonder how many traits they will have in common.

Official event photographer Wayne Bingham will probably take plenty of photos of all of the aspects of the weekend and they will be available on the CR site for everyone to enjoy and get jelous of. You people can avoid these bad feelings by resolving right now to attend next year. Trust me, you will be jelous by the time the photos hit the website. Sunday will be a day to end all days. The one day participants will cause the total number of bikes and persons to swell to bulgeing. Non attendees will loose bowell control once you see what and who shows up for this. I'd be looking for an adult diaper right now; before it's too late.

The weather is going to be PERFECT for the whole weekend. This event is going to ROCK like you won't believe.

I've got to get busy now gathering up all my stuff and then shoehorning it all into my car. I'm giving Pergolizzi a lift up there tomorrow and I just might have to drag his bag behind my car on a rope. Hopefully John will not have to join his bag! I suppose I could lash him to my trike which is toe-strapped to my roofrack. Although, then he would not be able to stuff his piehole with these Krispy Kreme donuts I bought to keep him quiet on the ride up. I wonder how many pumpkin spice cake donuts I'd need to jam in his mouth at once to shut him up? Stay tuned folks; I'll know the answer to that tomorrow. I have a fire extinguisher full of coffee I can hose him down with if he brakes free of the donut jam.

Wish you all were here. You won't believe the FUN we're going to have. We may even bust up a few Pasadena resturants before we're through! No doubt all the vintage bike "Rockstars" are going to trash their rooms before we leave this town in shambles. Come PARTY HARTY with us next year!

Brian Baylis La Mesa, CA Let's ROCK! Too bad there ain't no drum kit there; I'd beat the CRAP out of that thing too. I'd walk away from a smoking pile of toothpicks and twisted brass, no lie!
