Blue Heron Bicycles on 13th just next to UofO is great. It's owned by a woman named Sue and her other worker Louie are old bike lovers and internal hub freaks. You could check into Eugene Bicycle Works. It's a kinda Co-Op where I used to teach wrenching to at-risk and home school kids. It's mostly 'bents and junk, but there are quite a few diamonds in the rough. The only problem is Jan the guy who runs this place, who I can't say anything about because this is a civil list. Paul's Bicycle Way of Life is a Mercian dealer and usually has a few interesting things. I'd also stop in and get a tour of Co-motion, Burley, and Bike Friday.

Eugene is also the biggest center of homemade bikes and 'bents anywhere I've ever been. There is also wonderful riding and bike paths EVERYWHERE. There are real reasons why Eugene is considered one of the very best cycling towns in the US. Have a good time but don't forget your Claritin. enjoy, Brandon"monkeyman"Ives Formerly of Eugene, Oregon Now in Santa Barbara, California --
