I believe this same bike has been put on eBay for sale multiple times, and we've discussed it on CR previously too, IIRC. It is pretty small to have been John's personal bike - he generally rode about a 59-60 cm c-t from everything I've ever seen. He may have had this bike in his fleet due to some sponsorship or compensation issue, I suppose....
Personally, I would ask for written authentification as to this bike's provenance before bidding any higher than parts/nostalgia value.
