I have a very similar Ernie Clements Falcon but 19.5 in purple and white with some of the parts different that are suited for my wife's riding. Yes it is a low-end mid-70s machine, paid modest $s for mine, a fun beginners bike, and yes the badge is cool.

Dale's CR site says "Falcon bikes were popular in the USA during the 1970s bike boom and most examples in this country date from that period."

I suspect this applies to Canada too.

---------- With the Velox RD, the cottered steel cranks, and what look like they may be non-QR hubs, this appears to be a lower-end mid-70's model, probably about equivalent to the Raleigh Record. I do agree it has a cool head badge, though.

Rather neat Falcon just appeared on E-Bay. Nice lug work and interesting components. No connection to seller. http://ebay.com/<blah> Tom Sanders Lansing, Mi
