I received the off-list message from Norris Lockley below regarding the French Randonneur Tandem listing on Ebay France http://cgi.ebay.fr/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1389901643. As a number have mentioned their possible interest, I thooght it best to share this information with everybody.

Steven Maasland Moorestown, NJ

I noticed your email on the CR List about this item on FRench Ebay. Always curious about French frames I contacted the seller to ascertain which builder had made the frame, thinking it might be a J-P Routens, Singer etc. The frame was made by Carlos, a builder with a very high regional reputation, based near Tours in the Loire Valley. I know Carlos better for his extremely competently built road racing frames and track tandems. All are of bronze-welded construction finished to a very high standard, certainly the equal of far better known frame-builders. Normally his enamelling is of a high standard too even if his designs do tend to err on the side of the exotic at times.

The tandem would apear to be a very good investment..

Hope that the foregoing info might prove useful to members on the List.

Bye

Norris Lockley
