I'm a long time lurker who has relly never had anything to contribute until now. I sometimes eat in a very nice french restaurant in the village of Lanesboro,Minnesota. Lanesboro has bike trails, B & B's, nice restaurants, but only about 1,000 residents and is not near any large towns. I was therefore surprised to see an autographed picture of Jimmy Carter taken in the restaurant. After considering it for a moment, I realized bicycling seemed consistent with his personality. Then I saw a similar photo of Louis Rukyser. Picture that sucker in spandex.

I don't have lots of really cool bikes. We have a family's worth of old Sekines, comfort bikes, mountain bikes, etc. My daily rider is a Heron road with Campy SR derailers, TA crank, etc. Some new stuff and some old, but everything selected because it works well. I just bought a Burley tandem which we probably won't be able to ride until spring because of Minnesota weather.

I also have have a '82 Colnago Super which I'm going to be setting up as a single speed after Chris Kvale tweaks it a little and re-paints it. It's going to be a Colnago version of Sheldon's new single.

Before I close, I would like to hype my LBS. Check out Dan Ulwelling's collection of vintage racing bikes at http://www.rydjor.com/rydcol1.htm. They're polite, helpful and appreciate quality lugged bikes. I guess I don't give it a second thought until I hear other people complaining.
