Greetings, everyone.

I’m a new member and am likely to lurk for a while before piping up again. The rules I were sent recommended that new members introduce themselves, however, and I’m happy to do so.

My name is Kristopher Green and I live in Olympia, Washington, in the United States. I’ve been bicycle mad since 1978, when, at the age of 13, I moved to a dreadful community and realized that my bicycle was my only chance for escape. “Breaking Away” was released shortly thereafter, and that was the end of it.

I’ve gained far too many pounds since my undistinguished racing career, and no longer have rooms of bikes. These days I ride a Tomasinni Diamante, built with Columbus Multishape tubing (a neat evolutionary dead end) and equipped with eight-speed Record, a (fully rigid) Paramount mountain bike, and a Benotto single speed townbike.

Mercian, Holdsworth, Allez, Paramount, several Bianchis and Raleighs, Vitus, Basso, and a bunch of others have come and gone. These days I’m looking for a Brooklyn- era Gios Super Record, and I’d love to own a fast bike, with a late 80s Mavic SSC gruppo, built by one of the American Artisans (Sachs, Weigle, Baylis, Columbine, Eisentraut, Jeff Lyon, Tesch, or perhaps Strawberry.)

My other interests include Ducati motorcycles of all eras, old Lancias, Alfa Romeos, Citroens, and Land Rovers, and small wooden sailboats. After winning the lottery, I figure I’ll broker all my favorite things and call the place “Organic Machines.”

Hope I haven’t taken up too much space. Thanks for reading, and for this terrific forum.
