Today I went to replace a Campagnolo NR skewer end, the part the lever
assembles through. The lever is an older straight one that folded back all
the way so the lever was parallel with the centerline of the bike. The
replacement part had slightly larger engraving (I presume from a curved lever
skewer?) and assembled fine, EXCEPT that the lever doesn't fold parallel when
in the fully tightened position. Is that indicative that the end really IS
from the curved lever generation? I hesitate to file the parts without a
little more information.
It really is fun looking at all the generational differences in the markings
on these things!
