Hoping not to project anything on the gentleman here but I find it rather sad that he/his family is parting with it. None of my business but its too bad the grandson doesn't/can't ride it.

this guy is nearer to 80 than not. he's owned the bicycle since the '50s. when he was done with it, his son rode it. when he asked me to deal with it, he'd planned to have his grandson use it upon completion.
he's not an ebay guy. he's never heard of cr the list. when i got the bicycle, it was completely original except for the wheels. please let's not project what we'd do if we were this guy. we're not this guy. e-RICHIE chester, still

If I were the vendor, I woud do what Chuck did with his
Folgorissima, namely to strip it down to find all the 'proof'
of the age. The BB spindle has the date stamped on it,
the headset has the date stamped on it, the lock nuts of the hubs
have the date stamped on them. If all of these components point
to the same year, this can only help with the sale of the bike. If
they don't match the story, the story should be removed from
the auction description.
