I'd also add that the shift lever is a Simplex and the rear derailleur is a Campagnolo Gran Sport so I doubt that the rear derailleur is original. My guess is that other parts aren't original to the bike either, such as the Campagnolo pedals.

"Previous original owner purchased new as it sits with the exception of tires." I'd say the previous original owner's memory was faulty.
