Trexlertown was great fun yesterday. The weather was just good enough, attendence was great and I got the feeling that people came to buy and enjoy the bargains. It will be interesting to see if this energy level can be reached in the Spring. Pro bike shops may have less enthusiasm to turn over their inventory going into the season.
Somehow I managed to miss Walt but enjoyed chats with a number of CR listees.
Martin Gold and I shared a table and we were both pleased with sales- and we even succeeded in not spending all the profits.
I was pleased to find a nice set of Phil Wood track wheels with real Fiamme track rims, a pair of Wipperman pedals that look to be pre-WWII, a pair of Mafac Tiger brake calipers and a few sets of BSA hub cones. I could have sold the wheels 5 times over as people kept finding them at the back of the booth.
Good classic bikes seemed rarer- Wayne Bingham scoffed up a very nice Raleigh RRA and a Confente track bike!!! I got fair interest but no offers on a Mirella I wanted to sell. Another fellow had a nice Raleigh Track bike at $700 and a Guerciotti at $450 that didn't sell as far as I know. I was surprised at the Guerciotti not movine as it was in nice shape.
