While exchanging a number of off-list emails with another vintage bike fan, I began thinking of looking into organizing a bicycle tour of numerous vintage bicycle highlights to be found in Italy.

While it would be far from inexpensive, it would be possible to arrange a 2 week tour, to take place in the month of September tour, that would combine a few of the more important Italian swap meets as well as visits to some of the best bicycle museums and final participation in the Eroica. All of the highlights could be joined up with rides of between 60 and 100 km per day. Of course, great food, great wine and quaint hotels would be a must.

I would like to hear from anybody who could possibly be interested in such a tour and would appreciate hearing what other types of sights that might make it more interesting. Lastly, I would like to know approximately how much one would be willing to spend on such a tour of the lifetime for the vintage bicycle collector.

Some of the places that I was thinking about visiting were:

- Campagnolo factory - a few frame building shops - Ghisallo santuary at least 3 cycling museums (perhaps even more)

Since I am presently looking for work, I would have time to research such a tour if sufficient interest existed and I knew that I would be able to cover my costs.

Please send me any comments off-list.
