im of the impression that at some point there were even more variations on threads for both track lockrings and cogs as well - ive had cogs that fit nicely on a set of older campy hubs but wouldnt even start on an airlite, or even and fb for that matter! the age of complete non-standardization is still not that far in our past... :)
