My choice for economical tubulars are the Hutchinson Tempo 1 or 2 at $16 - $18 US at my LBS. One is ribbed (2?) and the other cross-hatched (1?). Both have tan sidewalls. They have been reliable, reasonably round, and not too vexing to install (i.e. not too tight).

I like the ribbed model best because it is the easiest to true up when mounting; You can really tell where it is twisted and needs to be adjusted when gluing up.

They've probably discontinued them so I'll need to go to something else like the Vittoria Rally in black. I assume they have tan sidewalls like the green ones. LaBicicletta has them for as cheap as you are likely to find ($13 US, $24.99 CDN individually; $109 US, $169 CDN for boxes of 10 tires).

Haven't bought from them personally but, if I can't get the Hutchinsons locally may do a box soon.
