1) i can understand those that did because of that
'infamous' green track frame that was accompanied
by an autographed business card. it is wrong to
associate the two examples, but i'm assuming that was
the motivation in writing it off.
2) i was one of the 'questioners', but my tact about it
remains, "how do you determine what 'built by' means?"
not that it matters what i think, but i never doubted that
it was or could've been 'built' by mr. masi. i just think/
thought that it is/was unrealistic to assume that it was a
soup-to-nuts build. and, either way, i am not suggesting
that it would detract from the charm or the quality or
the value of the frame. the subsequent thread about
the 'division of labor' and what constitutes a one-man shop
encompasses some of my points of view on this. read
yesterday's archives.
3) i must have slept through that initial part of the thread; i
don't remember anyone questioning curt's opinion on
this frame. i'll check the archives.
