This is outside the explicit CR timeline but being a lugged frame in the classic style, Dale has given me permission to offer to the list my 1990 Masi Gran Criterium frame, fork and period Campagnolo headset.

Here's the details:

BB markings are - "MM60" and "0038" Seat tube is 60c-t and about 58c-c 58 c-c toptube 130 rear spacing chrome dropout faces and sides of fork crown Seat & downtube water bottle bosses Superb details, craftsmanship and paint Braze on front derailleur tab Top tube cable guides Fabulous whitish color with yellow cutout details and also yellow as the primary decal color

I've been in touch with another CR member that was involved with the production of these frames and based on the BB markings received this feedback: "1990, 60cm center to top, made in Italy. White Imron toner with gold pearl topcoat. Delivered for shipping on April 10, 1990. In 1990 Ted Kirkbride was running the frame shop. I believe that Joe Stark (currently making some of the Rivendale's) was brazing, with finish work being done be Raul and Jesus."

A period brochure I have lists the following information: "Gran Criterium is lightweight, yet extremely efficient and stable - the product of Masi's unique combination of proven materials and state-of-the-art racing geometry. A single craftsman assembles each frame, applying a time-honed sense of detail and impeccable, 12-step finish work rarely found in even the finest custom-crafted bicycles. Gran Criterium won't fit every cyclist's budget. On the other hand, you could spend a lot more money and not even come close." Head and set tube angles are listed as both being 73.5 for a 58cm spec frame. BB drop of 7cm, wheelbase of 100cm and chainstay length of 41. Tubing is listed as " specially extruded, Columbus SLX steel alloy." Lugs and fork crown are "exclusive Masi investment cast lugs."

Very excellent condition, completely original with no paint touch-ups that I can find and only a few chips. No, not mint but really excellent+.

Price is $500, plus shipping at actual cost. To determine shipping costs, I'll box her up, weigh the package and using the USPS website I'll determine the cost. If upon actual shipment it costs more to ship than anticipated, I'll pick up the difference; if it costs less than anticipated than I'll refund the balance.

16 pictures available to those interested but please note that the pictures I have show a BB installed, this is not part of the sale (but you can have it if you purchase the splendid Topline crankset I have on eBay right now - item # 734252378). All the components on this bike were very high end and in excellent condition too; supporting my notion that this Masi saw little ride time.

Let's get her to a good home.
